In-Person Instruction Expansion
Earlier this week, District staff updated the Board of Education on the plan to expand in-person instruction days while maintaining health and safety guidelines. While many details are still under construction, we need a commitment from our families for their students to attend school on campus for in-person instruction perhaps 4 or 5 days per week, or to attend school in 100% distance learning with real-time instruction from their current teacher. This commitment would be through May 27th, the last day of this school year.
District staff created a Frequently Asked Questions document to address many of the questions that have come up over the last few days. Again, some details are still being worked out, however, I assure you that we are doing our best to provide additional in-person learning days on campus for our students as well as continuing to provide distance learning options for our families who are more comfortable with their child learning from home.
The Frequently Asked Questions document is linked on this page in English and Spanish. If your question is not addressed, please call the school office and we will find the answer.
Teachers may be sending parents a ClassDojo message or email and you may respond directly to that otherwise office staff will follow up with individual phone calls to families the week of March 1st through the 5th.
Lastly, the state of California has asked school districts to ensure that students’ mailing addresses are up-to-date. The Department of Social Services is planning on another round of Pandemic EBT benefits which help families buy groceries. If you qualify, the P-EBT card will be mailed to the mailing address you have on file with the District. To check the mailing address you have on file, go to the District website at mcs4kids.com and look for the “Check My Mailing Address” section.
